Focusing methods
Changing the Focusing methods
Various focus methods can be set according to the
subject of photographing.

In Shooting mode, press [MENU].

Select Shooting 2 (

) AF Mode
an option.
Single AF
If the focus is set by pressing half-way of the
[shutter], fix the focus to that position.
Continuous
AF
While holding the [shutter] half-way down, the
focus is continuously fixed appropriate for the
subject.
Manual
Focus
Adjust the focus manually by turning the focus ring.
AF Priority
When using the AF focusing function, the AF Priority
function does not allow the shutter to fire if the focus is
not appropriately set.

Off This takes a shot regardless of the focus.
On
This takes a shot only if the focus is set
corr
ectly when pressing the shutter. Even
though the focus is set correctly in the
state of half-shutter, the shot would not be
taken if the focus is not set correctly at the
time of pressing the shutter fully.
By using the control level of [AF/MF], the focus can be
adjusted manually.
When there is no AF/MF switch on the lens, the focus
can be adjusted manually in the AF mode by selecting the
Manual Focus.
The selectable option may differ according to the lens in
use.
When adjusting the focus manually, the picture may appear
blurred if the focus not set accurately. Please take a picture
after setting the focus accurately. (p. 32).
The function can be set directly by pressing [
] in the
shooting mode.
Although the AF Priority is set, the continuous and
the burst shot options allow the shutter to fire when
the focus is not appropriately set.
