Fast Track Troubleshooting

Quick Test Mode
Note: This test erases all faults and memory:
To enter press Spin, Soil, & Power
simultaneously with the power off.
1. All LED’s light up and the washer beeps as it
enters the Quick Test Mode.
2. The unit displays the software version for a
second then clears the EEprom.
3. After the displaying the software version, LCD
will display Model information.
If EEEE is displayed the PCB ass’y is defective.
For production up to 03/31/2009 Serial **S3**
4. When the version is displayed. Press the follow-
ing keys to test the various components.
Effective 4/1/2009 Serial **S4 ** a change was
made.
4. After the displaying the software version, turn
the Jog dial CCW to display “F4”. Press the follow-
ing keys to test the various components.
Press Temp Key to cycle through the Water Valves in
this order: Cold Main, Bleach, Cold Main & Bleach for
Fabric Softener, Hot, then off.
Press Spin Key to test Motor circuit.
Press Signal Key to test Drain Pump
Press Soil to test door lock - unlock circuit
Service Mode:
This mode allows more detailed operation tests and trouble-
shooting, to enter press Signal & Extra Rinse
simultaneously with the power on.
While in Service Mode the following tests can be performed:
Quick Spin Test = Delay Start & Spin: This accelerates
the drum motor from 0 to maximum RPM over a few min-
utes. Note: Stay with the washer during this test, out of bal-
ance detection may be bypassed and the door may not lock.
Press the Start/Pause button during the test to hold its spinning
speed for 10 minutes before going back to Quick Spin Test
Mode.
Cycle Count = Press the Signal button to see how many times
the unit was used
Soft Ware # = Press the Soil button to see the software version
information
Fast Time Down = Press the Temp button to advance to the
next cycle
Fault Code Test = Press the Spin button to view the stored fault
codes then turn Dial to view error codes (Push Start/Pause
while the code is displayed to view the number of cycles since
the error occurred)
Peripheral (Main PCB) input Tests
1. Extra Wash. Then turn the Dial so that the Normal LED is
turned on. Next, press the Start/Pause Key. The Water Tem-
perature will be displayed in Fahrenheit.
2. Extra Wash. Then turn the Dial so that the Whites LED is
turned on. Next, press the Start/Pause Key. The door status will
be displayed (OP if open, CL if closed).
3. Extra Wash. Then turn the Dial so that the Wool LED is
turned on. Next, press the Start/Pause Key. The door lock
Switch status will be displayed (UL if unlocked, Lo if locked).
Water Frequency/Water Sensor Testing
Select a cycle & start the washer, enter Service Mode &
press Extra Wash.
Turn the Dial so that the Delicate LED is turned on. Next, press
the Start/Pause Key. The Water Frequency will be displayed.
The frequency will change as the unit fills.

Selecting Language
1. The ―Select the Language‖ message appears.
2. Turn the Dial to select language
3. Press Signal button to select
EEPROM Clear Check
Power off, Press Delay Start, Signal and Power Key at
the same time. Good = Good Fail = FAiL
All memory will be cleared, including Fault Codes
This should be done when a new Main PCB is
installed

    • E2/15 (Switch Error/Main Relay Error): Check if power switch or tact switch is stuck, service PBA holding screws are too tight, main PBA switching IC on/off error, or incorrect main relay connections.
    • dS22 (Door is open - before operation): Check door switch and latch alignment.
    • dL18 (Door was unlocked while washer was running - during operation): Check latch for damage, wiring harness to latch, door switch, main PBA door sensing circuit, or Main PCB operation.
    • LO2 (Door will not unlock - Unlock Fail): Verify Main PCB operation.
    • FL4 (The washer door would not lock - Lock Fail): Verify Main PCB operation.
    • Hr36 (Heater/Water Temperature Control Problem): Check for short/disconnected wire in heater circuit, tub contacting heater, frozen water, no water, temperatures above 145C, PBA relay malfunction, or faulty steam heater.
    • 9E1 (EMC Filter issue): Indicates a noise spike from an external device.
    • OE/E (Water Supply Problem/Overflow): Verify drain is working, water level detection, water valves shut off fully, or water level sensor.
    • 29/LE (Temperature Sensor Problem): Check connections for washing heater temperature sensor connector.
    • dC10 (Unbalanced Load): Check laundry type, reposition load, remove items, or complete wash cycle.
    • 7E (Silver Care Kit PCB Failure): Check Silver Care PCB, Main PCB, and wire harness.
    • 8E (Mems or Harness Failure): Check MEMS PCB, Main PCB, and wire harness.
    • SUdS/Sd (Excessive Suds): Normal operation; if persistent, check detergent usage.
  • Leveling: Ensure the washing machine is level to the floor to reduce redo calls and customer dissatisfaction, as vibrations can shorten product lifetime.
