Lateral
balance
adjustments
-
Lateral
balance,
when
properly’
adjusted,
permits
the
stylus
to
stay
strictly
vertical
to
the
record
surface
whether
it's
tracing
outer
or
inner
grooves
of
the
record.
Procedures
are
as
follows:
1.
Raise
the
rear
side
of
the
turntable
by
about-100
mm
(4
inches)
and
pull
the
arm
lifter
lever.
2.
Move
the
tonearm
midway
between
the
arm
rest
and
the
platter
rim,
and
release
the
tonearm.
:
3.
The
tonearm
remains
stationary
when
the
lateral
weight
is
properly
aligned.
However,
if
it
creeps
in
the
direction
of
A,
pull
the
lateral
weight
toward
@
.
And
push
it
toward
if
the
arm
creeps
in
the
direction
of
B.
100
mm.
Tracking-force
adjustment
When
the
tonearm
horizontal
balance
is
achieved,
a
"O-gram”
tracking-
force
is
applied
at
the
tip
of
the
stylus.
To
apply
the
required
positive
force,
you
have
to
move
the
main
weight
toward
the
tonearm
support
pivot.
For
detailed
tracking-force
application
and
adjustment,
observe
the
following
procedures:
1.
After
undertaking
horizontal
balance,
turn
the
tracking-force
dial
so
that
its
“0”
calibration
is
in
line
with
the
index
on
the
weight
shaft.
2.
Turn
the
main
weight
to
the
right
until
you
obtain
the
necessary
tracking
force.
Since
the
tracking-force
dial
turns
as
the
weight
is
turned,
the
applied
tracking
force
is
indicated
by
the
numerals
on
the
dial
above
the
index
line
on
the
weight
shaft.
