What to do if my Santa Fe Dehumidifier is not removing enough water?
    • W
      William PatelAug 9, 2025
If your Santa Fe Dehumidifier isn't removing as much water as you'd expect, several factors could be at play. Start by ensuring the air temperature and humidity are sufficient. Check if the unit is in defrost cycle and wait for it to complete. Inspect and clean or replace any dirty air filters. Look for and seal any air leaks, such as loose covers or ducting leaks. Other potential causes include a defective defrost thermostat (replace it if needed), low refrigerant charge (check and correct it), restrictive ducting (modify or replace it), a defective compressor (replace it), or a miscalibrated humidity meter or thermometer (calibrate or replace them).

Why is my Santa Fe Dehumidifier frosting up and not dehumidifying properly?
    • A
      Andrea ThompsonAug 14, 2025
If your Santa Fe Dehumidifier isn't dehumidifying effectively and the evaporator is continuously frosted, it could be due to a few reasons. The defrost thermostat might be loose or defective, so tighten or replace it. Another possibility is a low refrigerant charge, which needs to be checked and corrected. Dirty air filters or restricted airflow could also be the cause; clean or replace the air filters. Finally, excessively restrictive ducting connected to the unit might be the problem; inspect and modify the ducting.

Why does my Santa Fe Dehumidifier compressor keep cycling on and off?
    • C
      Charles MorrisAug 20, 2025
If your Santa Fe Dehumidifier's compressor cycles on and off while it's supposed to be dehumidifying, it could be due to several reasons. First, the ambient temperature or humidity may be too low, causing the unit to cycle through defrost mode; in this case, increase the ambient temperature and/or humidity. Other potential causes include a defective compressor overload (replace it), a defective compressor (replace it), a defective defrost thermostat (replace it), dirty air filters restricting airflow (clean or replace them), or a defective fan or relay (check and replace if defective).

What to do if my Santa Fe Dehumidifier compressor is not running but the fan is?
    • F
      floreswilliamAug 25, 2025
If the compressor on your Santa Fe Dehumidifier isn't running, but the fan is, and dehumidification is needed, there are a few potential causes. It might be due to a defective compressor run capacitor, so replace it. There could be a loose connection in the compressor circuit, so check for that. Other possibilities include a defective compressor overload (replace it), a defective compressor (replace it), or an open defrost thermostat (check it for faults).

How to troubleshoot a Santa Fe Advance 90 Dehumidifier when the fan is not running?
    • P
      Paul JohnsonAug 29, 2025
If the fan isn't running on your Santa Fe Dehumidifier when it should be, whether for dehumidification or just fan operation, start by inspecting for loose connections in the fan circuit. Also, check if there's any obstruction preventing the fan impeller from rotating and remove it. If those aren't the issue, the fan itself might be defective, or the fan relay could be faulty; in either case, replace the fan or the fan relay, respectively.

What to do if my Santa Fe Advance 90 fan and compressor are not running?
    • K
      Kristin RodriguezSep 4, 2025
If neither the fan nor the compressor is running on your Santa Fe Dehumidifier when it should be dehumidifying, start by checking if the dehumidifier is properly plugged in and that there is power to the outlet. If that's not the issue, the humidity control might be set too high, so lower it. Inspect the internal and control wiring for any loose connections. Finally, the compressor relay might be defective, requiring replacement.

Overview

The Santa Fe Advance90 is a high-performance dehumidifier designed primarily for use in crawl spaces and basements, though it is suitable for various residential applications where humidity control is desired. Its horizontal configuration and unique dual airflow outlets make it an effective solution for these environments. The unit is designed to operate in temperatures between 49°F and 95°F, with optimal efficiency between 56°F and 95°F. Before installation, it is crucial to address any water intrusion or excessive fresh (outside) air infiltration problems to ensure efficient humidity control.

Function Description:

The Santa Fe Advance90 operates by drawing in humid air, removing moisture through a refrigeration system, and then discharging drier air. The humidity control is an adjustable switch that turns the dehumidifier on and off based on the relative humidity (RH) set point, turning on when RH rises above the set point and off when it falls within ±5% of the set point. It includes a defrost thermostat to prevent internal damage from excessive frost formation; when frost builds up, the system stops dehumidifying, and the fan runs until normal operating conditions resume. The fan can be set to run continuously for air circulation or filtration ("FAN ON") or only when the unit is actively dehumidifying ("FAN AUTO").

Usage Features:

  • Installation Flexibility: The horizontal design and dual airflow outlets allow for versatile installation in basements and crawl spaces. It can be placed on a level surface using leveling feet or suspended from floor joists with an optional hang kit to prevent flood damage.
  • Ducting Options: The unit supports optional ducting to finished areas. It comes with an 10" diameter duct collar and front panel for return air. Two 10" diameter duct collars can be attached to the exhaust outlets, allowing for single or dual exhaust. An included duct plate can block off one outlet if only one is needed.
  • Humidity Control Settings: The humidity dial offers approximate levels: "Drier" (35-45% RH), "Normal" (45-55% RH - recommended for most applications), and "Humid" (55-65% RH).
  • Drainage: The unit generates condensate and requires a drain trap for proper operation. An 8' direct gravity drain hose is included. A secondary drain pan is recommended if the unit is suspended over finished areas. An optional condensate pump kit is available for situations requiring condensate lift to a remote location.
  • Remote Dehumidistat: An optional remote dehumidistat (part number 4020175) is available for remote humidity monitoring and control.
  • Energy Efficiency: The unit is ENERGY STAR certified, indicating efficient operation.

Maintenance Features:

  • Air Filtration: The Santa Fe Advance90 is equipped with a MERV-13 air filter (14" x 17.5" x 1.75"). Optional MERV-8 or MERV-11 filters are also available. Filters should be checked and replaced every three to six months to maintain capacity and efficiency. Operating the unit with a dirty filter or no filter will void the product warranty.
  • Filter Replacement: Filters are easily accessible by removing a magnetized filter door. The filter slides out of its compartment and a new one can be inserted, ensuring the airflow arrows on the filter face into the dehumidifier.
  • Service Access: The top "L" shaped panel can be removed to access internal components for maintenance and service.
  • Warranty: The product comes with a 2-year limited warranty on the dehumidifier and a 6-year limited warranty on its components. Servicing should only be performed by qualified service personnel due to high-pressure refrigerant system and high voltage circuitry.
