15. Troubleshooting
The following table shows fault symptoms and describes remedial measures in the event of your machine failing to work
properly. If you cannot localise and rectify the problem with this, please contact your service workshop.
Fault Possible cause Remedy
The electric starter does not
rotate (on models equipped
with one).
The extension cable is not
connected.
Connect the extension cable to the socket and
/ or machine.
The extension cable is worn,
corroded or damaged.
Replace the extension cable.
The socket does not provide current.
Have the power supply to the socket restored
by a competent electrician.
The engine does not start.
The choke is not in the CHOKE
position.
Set the choke to the CHOKE position.
Then engine was not vented.
Vent the engine as described in these
instructions.
Too much fuel in the engine.
Wait a few minutes before restarting, do NOT
use the ventilator.
The fuel valve is closed. Open the fuel valve.
The throttle is in the STOP position
or the ON/OFF switch is at OFF.
Set the throttle to the FAST position or the ON/
OFF switch to ON.
The ignition cable is loose or not
connected to the plug.
Re-connect the ignition cable to the spark plug.
The fuel tank is empty or contains
old fuel.
Fill the tank again with clean, fresh fuel.
The spark plug is defective. Clean it, adjust the distance, or replace it.
The safety ignition key is not
inserted.
Insert the safety ignition key.
The engine oil level in the crankcase
is too low or too high.
Rell with oil or drain some oil in order to adjust
the oil level in the crankcase.
Idling or engine running
irregularly.
The engine is running in the CHOKE
position.
Set the choke to the RUN position.
The fuel tank is almost empty or
contains old fuel.
Fill the tank again with clean, fresh fuel.
The fuel is contaminated. Replace with clean fuel.
The carburettor is not adjusted
correctly.
Contact an authorised specialist workshop.
Excessive speed. Contact an authorised specialist workshop.
The fuel valve is not fully open or the
fuel line is clogged.
Open the fuel valve or clean the fuel line.
The ignition cable is loose. Re-tighten the ignition cable.
The spark plug is defective. Clean it, adjust the distance, or replace it.
The engine oil level in the crankcase
is too low or too high.
Rell with oil or drain some oil in order to adjust
the oil level in the crankcase.
Engine is overheating.
The carburettor is not adjusted
correctly.
Contact an authorised specialist workshop.
Excessive vibrations. Loose or damaged parts.
Retighten all brackets or replace damaged
parts.
