What to do if my Schumacher Battery Charger has a short or no start cycle?
- Jjeffery72Jul 28, 2025
If you experience a short or no-start cycle when cranking the engine with your Schumacher Battery Charger, there might be a few reasons. First, check the AC outlet's fuse or circuit breaker, and ensure the power and extension cords are securely plugged in. Also, verify the connections at the battery and frame are solid. Allow the battery and charger to cool down for 3 minutes between cranking attempts. For a severely discharged battery, try using the 10A Boost setting for a few minutes to aid cranking. Note that crank time can vary based on current draw; if it exceeds the Engine Start Rate, the crank time may be less than 3 seconds. Additionally, the thermal protector might have tripped, requiring more time to reset. Ensure the charger vents are unobstructed. Wait and try again.
