5.2 Optional electrical rod lock
An optional, electrical rod lock is available for this product.
This option involves a brake that is applied via a spring-loaded
mechanism and is released electrically.
The installation of the brake is described in chapter
Mounting of accessories [
}
94]. For electrical connection, please
refer to the operating manual for the brake.
The following is to be observed:
• Observe the separate operating manual for the brake.
• The brake holds the axis in the present position when no
current is applied.
• The brake does not release until it is electrically actuated.
• Do not move the axis if the brake has not been released.
• The brake does not provide protection from injury.
• The brake is not a safety component.
• In new condition, the holding force is 70N.
WARNING
Danger of crushing! The brake releases immediately after
actuation.
Parts of the body can be crushed if the axis moves unexpectedly
when the brake is actuated.
• Persons must keep out of the danger zone.
