What to do if the combustion air blower does not start in my Schwank SEM 200-70?
    • T
      Taylor MartinezAug 9, 2025
If the combustion air blower in your Schwank Heater doesn't start, begin by checking the line voltage power supply and the voltage at the blower motor. If voltage is present, consider replacing the motor. Also, verify the thermostat, wiring connections, and fuse/circuit breaker. Ensure that the air intake and flue air proving switch are not blocked, and that the pressure tube is connected and not blocked. Check the air pressure with a manometer and confirm that the air proving switch closes when the blower runs. Replace any defective switches as needed.

How to fix spark across igniter or igniter/sensor gap in Schwank SEM 200-70?
    • M
      Mrs. Suzanne WeissAug 26, 2025
To address a spark across the igniter or igniter/sensor gap in your Schwank Heater, pull the ignition lead and check for a spark. Inspect the spark gap and adjust it to between 1/8” and 3/16” using only the ground prong if necessary. You may also need to replace the ignition control. Refer to the Spark Ignition Circuit section on Page 24 for additional guidance.
