The Invader is an ultimate off-road mobility scooter designed for a single person, offering a blend of robust performance and user-friendly features. It is suitable for use on smooth pavements, roadways, and off-road terrains including gravel, mud, sand, or snow surfaces, provided local laws are observed. The Invader is designed to provide a rewarding experience with regular maintenance and proper operation.
Function Description
The Invader functions as a three-wheeled mobility scooter capable of navigating various terrains. It is equipped with a speed override key ignition that allows the user to switch between different speed modes:
- Setting 1 – Pavement speed: Maximum of 4mph.
- Setting 2 – Safety switch: This switch does not affect the speed override ignition when it is OFF, and activates a safety buffer between 4mph and 8mph speed modes.
- Setting 3 – Road speed: Maximum of 8mph for on-road use.
When the speed override key ignition is turned ON, the override function is enabled, allowing speeds of up to 16mph for off-road use ONLY.
The scooter features a comprehensive control system including handlebar controls for lights, turn signals, and acceleration, as well as a braking system with a brake lock. It also incorporates an alarm system for security.

Usage Features
- Ignition: The Invader is started by turning the key to position 1 in the ignition barrel. Position 2 turns the unit off, and position 3 engages the steering lock.
- Steering Lock: An added level of protection, the Invader comes with a steering column lock that prevents the wheel from turning. To engage, turn the handlebars to the left, put the key in position 2, push down, and turn counterclockwise to position 3.
- Acceleration & Braking: The right handlebar features a throttle for acceleration. The left and right brake handles control the front and rear hydraulic disc braking system. A brake lock is available on the left-hand side to prevent rolling on hills.
- Reversing: To engage reverse mode, hold down the green button on the left handlebar and gently twist the throttle lever. Ensure the area is clear of obstructions.
- Display: A digital LCD display shows current speed (in km/h), cumulative kilometres travelled (odometer/tripmeter), and battery level. The battery meter dips when the Invader is in motion and returns to the previous position when stationary.
- Lights: High quality LED headlights (low beam and high beam) and integrated rear brake lights are activated when the ignition is switched on.
- Indicators: Bright orange LED indicators are located on the left handlebar and can be activated by switching to the central position to turn off.
- Follow-Me-Home Lights: A standard safety feature that keeps the headlights on for 10 seconds after the ignition is turned off, then automatically turns them off.
- Horn: An electric horn is activated by pressing the horn button on the left handlebar. It only sounds if the ignition is switched on and must be used in compliance with the Highway Code.
- Seat Adjustments: The seat can be moved forwards or backwards by grasping a black lever underneath the seat.
- Footrests: Extendable footrests can be pushed towards the Invader to pop out, and folded back in for reversing.
- Safe Inclines: The Invader can climb inclines of up to 25 degrees. It can stop, brake, and turn on a 25-degree incline. Tipping backwards on inclines can be reduced by sliding the seat forward.
- Unintentional Movement: The Invader remains stationary when switched on with the manual brake levers engaged and will not move until these are released and the forward or reverse throttle lever is twisted. An emergency stop can be performed by letting go of the throttle levers and firmly pulling the hand-operated brake levers.
Maintenance Features
- Charging: The Invader is recharged via a regular 3-pin power socket outlet. The charging port is located under the seat. The charger LED turns red when charging and green when fully charged. Charging takes 8-10 hours. It is crucial not to leave the charger plugged in for extended periods after charging is complete to prevent fire hazards. Batteries should be charged for no more than 12 hours continuously.
- Replacing Bulbs: LEDs are energy efficient and long-lasting, but if replacement is needed, it should be done by a certified Scooterpac dealer.
- Battery Care: The battery assembly is located under the floorpan, protected by a black metal chequered plate. The floorpan must be removed to access the batteries. Ensure all four bolts are used to replace the floorpan securely without crushing or bending any wires.
- Circuit Breaker / Fuse: Located underneath the seat, just above the controller. Access the circuit breaker by removing two bolts that lock the seat rest to the machine and lifting the bar up to access the under-seat compartment. The blue switch indicates a surge and turns the whole unit off. The display does not light up when the key is in the ignition if the circuit breaker is set to off.
- Tyre Pressures: Front tyre pressure: 15psi. Rear tyre pressure: 15psi. Tyres should have at least 3mm of tread.
- Troubleshooting:
- To prevent rolling away downhill, activate the brake lock.
- To ensure safety, always start slowly when engaging the throttle.
- An additional lock is advised when leaving it outside for extended periods.
- If the display does not turn on, check the breaker switch underneath the seat.
- If the machine turns on but the motor does not run, ensure the brake lock is not on and the motor is not engaged by pressing the brake.
- Cleaning: The seat should be wiped with a soft dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaning materials or bleach. For the deep black colour, a vinyl cleaning spray may be used. For the paintwork, use soft cloths and a mild automotive detergent. Automotive polish is recommended for a high-shine finish. Never use boiling water to clean the Invader.
- Servicing: The Invader must be serviced every 12 months by an authorised Scooterpac dealer. A service record is provided in the manual to document servicing dates and locations.
The Invader comes with a 12-month manufacturer's warranty. The warranty does not cover damage from improper use, after-market modifications, or accidental damage. Wear and tear items like batteries, tyres, and windscreen wipers are not covered.
