6.0Maintenance/Calibration
6.1 Calibration.Onthemainscreen,thereisabuttonintheupper right hand corner
labeledCalibration.OfficialCalibrationcanonlybeperformedbyanauthorizedSDL
Atlastechnicianandtheareaispasswordprotected.Pleasecontactyourlocalagent
toarrangecalibrations.
6.2 CareofYourVortexM6
Use only a damp or sudsy cloth forcleaningthecontrolpanel.Some cleaning
productsmayharmthefinishonthecontrolpanelordamagetheinterior.DONOT
use products that contain alcoholonthecontrolpanel.Wipethe panel dry after
cleaning.
Wipe the instrument cabinet as needed. If detergent, bleach or other washing
products are spilled on the cabinet, wipe immediately. Some products will cause
permanentdamageifspilledonthecabinet.Donotusescouring padsor abrasive
cleansers.
Thewashtubwillneednoparticularcarethoughitmayneedrinsingorwipingafter
some unusual loads have been tested. This also may be necessary if too little
detergenthasbeenused.Leavethelidopentoallowtheinsideoftheinstrumentto
dryoutafteruse.Thishelpspreventmustyodorsfromdeveloping.
Theagitatorshouldnotberemovedexceptforservice.Thewashtubisdesignedto
beself‐cleaning.
ColdWeatherCare
If the instrument is delivered on a cold day (below freezing), or is stored in an
unheated room or area during the cold months, do not attempt tooperatethe
VortexM6untilithashadachancetowarmup.Waterfromthepreviouscyclemay
remain.
6.3 ReplacingHoses
Hoses and other natural rubber parts deteriorate after extendeduse.Hosesmay
develop cracks, blisters or material wear from the temperature and constant high
pressuretheyaresubjectedto.
Allhosesshouldbecheckedonamonthlybasisforanyvisiblesignsofdeterioration.
Any hose showing the signs of deterioration listed above shouldbereplaced
immediately.Allhosesshouldbereplacedeveryfiveyears.
