How to fix a Sears Snow Blower that does not start?
- TTroy ThomasAug 10, 2025
If your Sears Snow Blower doesn't start, several issues could be the cause. First, ensure the fuel shut-off valve is in the OPEN position and the safety ignition key is inserted. Check that you have fresh, clean gasoline in the fuel tank. Make sure the throttle is in the FAST position (or the ON/OFF switch is ON) and the choke is in the FULL position. If it still doesn't start, prime the engine as instructed in the Operation section of the manual. If the engine is flooded, wait a few minutes before restarting and do not prime. Check that the spark plug wire is connected, and if the spark plug is bad, replace it. Finally, stale fuel or water in the fuel can also prevent starting; in this case, empty the fuel tank and carburetor, and refill with fresh, clean gasoline.
