Overview

The Secure Elite 440 is a multi-line digital display panel meter designed for energy management, integrating with the TrackSo IoT Gateway for remote monitoring and data transmission. This device is suitable for various applications requiring accurate measurement and remote access to energy data.

Function Description

The Secure Elite 440 meter measures and displays various electrical parameters. Its primary function is to provide real-time energy data, which can then be transmitted to an IoT platform for comprehensive energy management. The meter supports RS-485 communication, allowing it to connect to an IoT gateway like the TrackSo device. This integration enables remote monitoring, data logging, and analysis of energy consumption. The device also features a setup mode for configuring parameters such as baud rate and MODBUS ID, ensuring flexibility in different network environments.

Important Technical Specifications

  • Brand: Secure
  • Type: Multi-line Digital Display Panel Meter
  • Models: Elite 440
  • Communication Interface: RS-485 socket on the rear panel.
  • Configurable Baud Rates: 1200, 2400, 4800, 9600 (default), 19200, 38400 bps.
  • Data Bits: 8 (default)
  • Stop Bit: 1 (default)
  • Parity: N/A (None) (default)
  • Configurable MODBUS ID Range: 1 to 247.
  • Power Requirement for TrackSo IoT Gateway: Minimum 12V/1A input.

Usage Features

Connection and Setup: The Elite 440 connects to the TrackSo IoT Gateway via its RS-485 terminal. The connection involves unscrewing the RS485 terminal, connecting cables to the bus terminal blocks, and then linking these to the TrackSo IoT Gateway according to the specified pin assignments (Secure Pin 1 (A) to TrackSo Pin 3 (D+), Secure Pin 2 (B) to TrackSo Pin 4 (D-), and Secure Pin 3 (SG) to TrackSo SG).

Configuration at the Meter End: The meter's setup mode is accessible via push buttons and is password-protected (default password: '1234').

  1. Accessing Setup Mode: From the default display, press the designated button to enter the Setup Mode page.
  2. Password Entry: Navigate to the 'Set Up' option, confirm, and then enter the 4-digit password using the up/down buttons, confirming with the designated button. Correct entry grants access to the configuration mode; incorrect entry displays an 'Incorrect' message and returns to the Setup Mode page.
  3. Setting Baud Rate: Within the setup menu, select the 'Communication' option. Then, choose 'BD RATE' to access the baud rate configuration page. Users can select from configurable baud rates (1200, 2400, 4800, 9600, 19200, 38400 bps) using left/right buttons and confirm the selection.
  4. Setting MODBUS ID: From the 'Communication' page, select 'MODBUS ID'. Enter the desired ID within the permissible range of 1 to 247 and confirm.
  5. Saving Configurations: After making changes, select the 'Save' option to activate the new configurations. The meter will then save the settings and return to the previous page, or automatically after 5 seconds.

TrackSo IoT Gateway Operation:

  1. SIM Card Insertion: Ensure correct connections and insert the SIM card into the TrackSo IoT Gateway by pulling the SIM tray, placing the card inside, and pushing the tray back into the slot.
  2. Power On: Switch on the power to the TrackSo device (minimum 12V/1A input). The red Power LED will glow and stay ON.
  3. GPRS Network Availability: The TrackSo IoT Gateway will only send data if a GPRS network is available at the installation location.

LED Indicators on TrackSo IoT Gateway:

  • GREEN (Power): Light when the device is powered on.
  • RED (GSM):
    • Flashing (ON 100ms, OFF 100ms): SIM Card not found.
    • Flashing (ON 500ms, OFF 500ms): Searching for GSM Network.
    • Flashing (ON 0.1s, OFF 2.9s) Once every 3sec: GSM Network Registered.
    • Flashing twice every 3sec: GPRS IP Connected.
    • Flashing 5 times: GPRS IP Sending data.
    • LED OFF: GSM Fault.
  • GREEN (COM TX): Blinks on data transmission in RS485 port.
  • YELLOW (COM RX): Blinks on data reception in RS485 port.

Connecting Multiple Meters: The TrackSo IoT Gateway supports connecting multiple Secure Elite 440 meters in a daisy-chain configuration via their RS-485 ports. Each meter's D+, D-, and SG terminals are connected in parallel to the corresponding terminals on the gateway.

Checking Network Status and Data Reception:

  1. SMS Command: Send the SMS command *2222#<Stat.gsm> to the mobile number of the TrackSo device to receive a status message detailing IMEI, network, signal strength, GPRS connection status, PIP connection status, and logged data points.
  2. Online Monitoring: If the GSM light flashes 5 times (indicating GPRS IP Sending data), log in to www.trackso.in with your username/password.
  3. View Units: Click on 'Units' from the menu bar to view installed units. Check if the 'Status' for the relevant unit is 'Receiving'.
  4. Event Ingestion Logs: If the status remains 'Not receiving' for more than 10 minutes, check 'Event Ingestion Logs' under your email ID on the TrackSo platform. If logs show 'Invalid request', restart the device. If logs are still problematic, contact support.

Maintenance Features

  • Password Protection: The setup mode is password-protected, ensuring that only authorized users can change critical configurations, preventing accidental or unauthorized alterations.
  • LED Indicators: Comprehensive LED indicators on the TrackSo IoT Gateway provide immediate visual feedback on power status, SIM card detection, GSM network activity, GPRS connectivity, and RS485 communication, aiding in quick troubleshooting.
