Maintenance
This machine requires little maintenance when used under average conditions. Before performing any
maintenance on this device, be sure to completely remove the power cord from the wall and the unit.
Tools
• #2 Phillips head screwdriver
Access Cutting Head
1. Unplug the power cord from the unit.
2. Loosen the four screws in the corners of the cover using a Philips head screwdriver.
Cleaning
Weekly – Wipe down unit with a light cleaning solution such as simple green and a rag.
Weekly – Vacuum or wipe out any rogue particles inside the cabinet.
Every 4-6 months – Vacuum or shake out any particles that have built up inside the unit.
Yearly or as needed – Replace vacuum filter.
Lubrication
This unit does not require frequent lubrication; however, the gearbox should be checked by SEM
personnel if issues arise as it requires special disassembly.
Changing Bags – Cabinet
1. Unplug the vacuum from the outlet.
2. Remove the nozzles from the front and rear of the vacuum.
3. Pull the vacuum from the cabinet. Vacuum reaches just outside the cabinet.
4. Undo the tabs on the sides and remove the top of the vacuum.
5. Remove the bag and replace.
6. Replace the top of the vacuum and put back in cabinet.
7. Return the nozzles into the vacuum.
8. Plug the vacuum into the outlet and resume shredding.
