Avoid using the extension cord of the wrong gauge wire or length. The motor will start automatically when air tank pressure drops below the motor/pressure switch’s cut-in pressure. If the pressure release valve hasn't unloaded pump head pressure, bleed the line by moving the switch to the OFF (0) position.

If the motor still doesn’t shut off, unplug the air compressor, the electrical contacts may be welded together, replace the pressure switch. Also, limit the air pressure to the capacity of the air compressor by using a smaller tool or a larger air compressor if the current one is incorrectly sized.
