Do you have a question about the Sencor SJE 1005 and is the answer not in the manual?

Overview

The Sencor Juice Extractor, models SJE 1005, SJE 1006RD, and SJE 1007WH, is a household appliance designed for extracting juice from fruits and vegetables. It operates by processing ingredients through a spinning stainless steel strainer, separating juice from pulp.

Function Description:

The juice extractor is designed for short-term use in a household environment. It efficiently extracts juice from various fruits and vegetables, collecting the juice in a separate container and the pulp in a dedicated pulp container. The device features a filling port with a plunger to safely guide ingredients onto the spinning strainer. A control button allows selection between two power settings, catering to different ingredient types. Softer ingredients like grapes, blueberries, melons, raspberries, and tomatoes are best processed at speed 1, while harder ingredients such as pineapple, celery, carrots, beets, and apples require speed 2. The appliance is equipped with a safety latch to ensure the lid is securely in place during operation.

Important Technical Specifications:

  • Rated voltage: 230 V AC
  • Nominal frequency: 50 Hz
  • Rated power input: 700 W
  • Protection class (regarding protection from electric shock): II
  • Pulp container capacity: 1.5 L
  • Noise level: 73 dB(A) (declared noise emission level, representing level A of the acoustic power relative to the reference acoustic power of 1 pW)

The package includes: 1 juicer, 1 pulp container, 1 plunger, 1 lid with filling port, 1 stainless steel strainer, 1 juice collector, 1 user manual, and 1 warranty certificate.

Usage Features:

Before first use, all detachable parts should be washed in warm water and dried. The juicer should be placed on a stable, even, non-slippery surface and plugged into a 220-240 V electrical socket.

Assembly involves:

  1. Inserting the juice collector into the juicer, ensuring its edge is even with the motor unit.
  2. Inserting the stainless steel strainer firmly onto the drive shaft within the collector, ensuring its upper edge is below the collector's upper edge.
  3. Covering with the lid and pressing it into position.
  4. Securing the lid by pulling the safety latch over it until a click is heard.
  5. Placing the pulp container by sliding its upper end in first, then pressing the lower end towards the juicer.
  6. Inserting the plunger into the filling port, aligning its groove with the projection for easier movement.

To use the product:

  1. Place a container under the spout to collect the juice.
  2. Prepare ingredients by washing them thoroughly and cutting excessively large pieces into smaller ones. Pits and hard seeds from fruits (e.g., nectarines, peaches, mangoes, apricots, plums, cherries) must be removed as they can make the juice bitter. Thick peels (e.g., oranges, pineapple, raw beets) should be removed, as well as the white rind from citrus fruits. Thin skins (e.g., apples, pears) do not need to be removed. Root vegetables should be cleaned of dirt and greens. Starchy fruits like bananas, avocados, and figs are not suitable for this juicer and should be processed with a mixer or food processor first.
  3. Turn the control switch to "1" for softer ingredients or "2" for harder ingredients.
  4. Insert prepared ingredients into the filling port and gently press them downward onto the spinning strainer using the plunger. Avoid excessive pressure to allow for slow, efficient juicing.
  5. During juicing, juice flows into the juice container, and pulp collects in the pulp container. The pulp container can be emptied during the process by turning the switch to OFF, emptying, and then replacing it before resuming.
  6. After processing, turn off the appliance and wait for the strainer to stop completely.

Important Usage Notes:

  • This appliance is intended for short-term use only. When juicing large quantities, do not use the juicer for more than 40 seconds at a time. Allow the juicer to cool completely between uses to prevent overheating.
  • Only use fresh fruits and vegetables for optimal juice yield and flavor. Overripe produce may result in less desirable taste.
  • Most fruits and vegetables (like apples, carrots, cucumbers) do not need to be cut or sliced extensively as they fit into the filling port whole.
  • Apple juice can brown quickly; adding a few drops of citrus juice can slow this process.
  • If storing juice in the refrigerator, consume it within one day. For longer storage, juice can be frozen for up to one month.

Maintenance Features:

  • Cleaning: Always unplug the product before cleaning.
  • Outer parts: Clean with a soft cloth dipped in lukewarm water. Avoid harsh cleaning fluids, paint thinners, or solvents, as these can damage the surface.
  • Accessories: After each use, wash all detachable accessories (stainless steel strainer, juice collector, lid, pulp container, plunger) with ordinary dishwashing detergent and rinse them with warm water.
  • Motor unit: Do not submerge the motor unit in water or any other liquid.
  • Strainer: Exercise caution when handling the stainless steel strainer due to its sharp blade to prevent injuries.
  • Power cord: If the power cord is damaged, it must be replaced by authorized service personnel to prevent hazards. Do not use the product with a damaged power cord or plug.
  • The manufacturer is not responsible for damages caused by incorrect use, including food spoilage, injuries, burns, scalding, or fire.
