(3) Adjusting copy density
Execute SIM 46-01. After warming up, the ready lamp comes on and
at the same time, the current exposure level is displayed on the
panel.

The copy density mode can be selected by using the copy density
key. The value of current copy density mode is displayed in reverse
video in brackets.
A. Adjusting copy density in the manual/Photo/Soft
focus photo modes

Select the picture quality mode (ex. manual mode) in which you
want to adjust the copy density, with the copy density key.

2 Make a copy.
Make sure that the "4" of the Sharp test chart UKOG-0162FCZZ is
copied and the "3" is not copied.
(for the UKOG-0089CSZZ, the "0.3" should be copied and the
"0.2" not copied.)
When too light:
Increase the value displayed on the COPIES MADE display.
When too dark:
Decrease the value displayed on the COPIES MADE display.
The value can be set in the range of 30 ∼ 170. The greater the set
value is, the darker the density is.
3 Press the copy density key to select the mode to be adjusted next,
and perform the same adjustment procedures.
(When the above set value is entered with exposure 3, the other
exposure (density) set values are automatically set.
B. Auto mode copy density adjustment
1 Select the auto mode with the copy density key.

2 Make a copy.
Check that "4" of Sharp test chart (UKOG-0162FCZZ) is copied
and "3" is not copied.
("0.3" of UKOG-0089CSZZ is copied and "0.2" is not copied.)
When too bright:
Increase the set value displayed on the copy quantity display.
When too dark:
Decrease the set value displayed on the copy quantity display.
The value can be set in the range of 30 ∼ 170. The greater the set
value is, the darker the density is.
When the copy density is within the reference range, the image ad-
justment is completed.
Note 1: SIM 46-2 allows to set the exposure level adjustment value
in each mode individually. (Refer to the section of simula-
tions.)
(4) Image mode selection
Each image mode has two image expressions, which can be selected
with SIM 26-27.
When SIM 26-27 is executed, the following display is shown to allow
selection of 1 and 2 for each image mode.

(5) Selecting gray scale level
In SIM 46-7, it is possible to set the gray scale level in each picture
quality mode.
Execute SIM 46-7. The gray scale level adjustment value for each
picture quality mode appears. (The setting in each mode is factory set
for 10.)
