MONITOR DEVICE
By utilizing the structure of cook switch and lock device
the monitor device is so designed as to prevent the door
from opening when the contacts of the cook switch melt.
Accordingly, microwave energy is not produced with the
door open, preventing hazard.
The function of the monitor device is as follows.
1. If the door is closed and the cook button is depressed,
the contacts of the cook switch close, which allows the
switch lever to be fixed by the switch stopper, keeping
the contacts of the cook switch closed.
2. If the door open lever is pushed down during cooking
cycle, it pushes up the switch stopper, which releases
the cook switch lever.
Accordingly, the contacts of the cook switch open,
causing the cook cycle to stop. (Refer to Figure 3.)

If the door open lever is further pushed down, the lock
lever is pushed up, actuating the latch lever to open the
door. (Refer to Figure 3.)

In case the contacts of the cook switch melt, the cook
switch does not turn on to open even if the switch
stopper is released by pushing the door open lever.
Accordingly, even if the door open lever is intended to
push down further, the lock lever is stopped by the
switch lever, preventing the door from opening. (Refer
to Figure 4.) If such a condition is encountered, it is
necessary to turn the timer to “0” position and replace
the cook switch.
