When
the
heads,
capstans
and
pinch
rollers
become
dirty,
this
may
result
in
muffled,
distorted
or
reduced
sound
during
play-
back
and
may
even
result
in
tape
jams.
Open
the
cassette
compartment
door
and
clean
with
a
cotton
swab
moistened
with
a
commercially
sold
head/pinch
roller
cleaner
or
alcohol.

Wait
approximately
10
seconds
for
the
alcohol
or
cleaning
fluid
to
dry
before
using.
If
the
heads
are
used
for
a
tong
time,
the
heads
will
gradually
become
magnetised.

Read
the
instructions
that
come
with
the
demagnetiser
carefully
on
use.
When
the
heads
become
magnetised:

Treble
tones
may
be
lost
and
distortion
may
result
during
playback.

Static
distortions
may
be
recorded
along
with
recordings.

Distortion
and
noise
may
be
recorded
on
previously
recorded
music
tapes.
