What to do if Shindaiwa 305s engine cranks but starts hard or doesn't start?
- KKelly HamptonJul 29, 2025
If your Shindaiwa Chainsaw engine cranks but struggles to start or doesn't start at all, consider the following: * Check for a clogged fuel strainer or fuel line and clean or replace if necessary. * If the fuel mixture is too rich, open the choke, clean or replace the air filter and adjust the carburetor. You may need to consult your Shindaiwa dealer. * Ensure the switch is in the ON position. * Inspect the spark plug. Adjust the spark gap to .65mm (0.026 in.), clean or replace the plug if it's covered with carbon or fouled with fuel, or replace the plug if it's defective. For any carburetor or spark issues, consider consulting your Shindaiwa dealer.
