IIS security
To increase the system security, IIS settings can be customized using the Micro-
soft IIS Lockdown tool (http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/
dd450372.aspx).
The tool must be installed and configured following the setup wizard, and allows for
disabling all unnecessary IIS functions that may potentially become target of unau-
thorized access or even hacking attacks. You can refer to the Microsoft web sites
to download the tool and run the setup wizard:
http://www.microsoft.com/Downloads/details.a
spx?displaylang=en&FamilyID=DDE
9EFC0-BB30-47EB-9A61-FD755D23CDEC.
Note that NK8000 Web Server is not listed in the Server Templates presented by
the Lockdown tool wizard. You can however select the generic template Other and
then enable the Web Service (HTTP) and File Transfer Service (FTP), the only
ones required NK8000 Web Server.
For more information refer to Microsoft documentation (e.g.:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/325864
).
IIS and Lockdown tool configuration must be performed by personnel adequately
trained on Windows services and all settings must be agreed with IT department.
