6 Software installation
The software installation includes the following:
Composer and basic tools for system configuration.
Additional tools: NW8202 (for IP configuration download) and NW8204 (for
maintenance and diagnostic).
6.1 Installation checklist
Items needed for the installation
The DMS8000 DVD
The DMS8000 Service key (dongle) - not required for Composer GW Tool
(NK8237) setup type
The Service key license PAK code (or the REG file that contains it) - not required
for Composer GW Tool (NK8237) setup type
Installation checklist
1. Install the Composer Software and, if required, the license key & PAK.

2. Install the NW8202 tool [➙ 54].

If required for diagnostics, install the NW8204 tool [➙ 55].
6.2 Composer tool
Composer tool can be installed using the standard DMS8000 DVD.
If you just need to commission an NK8237, you can choose the Composer GW Tool
(NK8237) installation option, which is a light version of Composer with only the
functionalities required for commissioning. The Composer GW Tool version needs no
license.
A full-feature version of Composer is installed along with the following installation
types, all requiring a license:
Composer and Subsystem Tools. This option installs the standard version of
Composer with all functionalities required to commissioning MM8000, MK8000 or
NK8000 products.
Stand-alone (MM8000). This option installs the MM8000 Server and Client and the
standard version of Composer with all functionalities required to commissioning
MM8000 and NK8000 products.
Stand-alone Station (MK8000). This option installs the MK8000 OPC Server and
the standard version of Composer with all functionalities required to commissioning
MK8000 and NK8000 products.
