Before you mount and commission the geared motor, also read the operating instructions for the SIDOOR ATE250S. You
will find the operating instructions for the SIDOOR ATE250S on the internet
(http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/72946496
).
Correct usage of the geared motors
The geared motors are only approved for use in type ATE250S SIDOOR door drives.

Risk of injury from improper use
Improper use can lead to serious injuries.
● Note and follow the instructions in these operating instructions in order to ensure the safety of persons.

Keep these instructions in a safe place.
Risk of injury due to dangerous electrical voltages and moving mechanical parts.
Disconnect the door drive by unplugging the power plug from the power supply before you start work on the door drive.
Risk of injury from the high temperature on the housing
The housing temperature can rise to 100 °C during operation.
As a result, you should take the following safety measures:
● Only mount the geared motor in positions which are not near components at risk of ignition, and which cannot be
touched by unauthorized persons.
● Select a mounting position that ensures good ventilation of the motor housing. Maintain a minimum distance of 10 mm
from adjacent components.

Inform service personnel about the danger of burns.

* The gear outlet direction is defined as left or right when viewing the gear unit from the front.
The geared motors consist of a gear unit, a motor, an encoder and a Hall-type pulse generator. The maintenance-free drive
unit consists of a speed-controlled, electronically commutated DC motor with non-self-locking gearing. The geared motors
must be selected according to the mounting direction.
