Overview

This document provides an instruction manual for the Silonn Ice Maker, models SLIM09B, SLIM09T, SLIM09W, and SLIM09G1. It covers important safety information, product introduction, control panel functions, usage instructions, cleaning and maintenance, troubleshooting, and warranty information.

Function Description

The Silonn Ice Maker is designed to produce ice for household use. It operates by freezing water to create ice cubes, which are then collected in an internal basket. The device offers two ice cube sizes: small and large, allowing users to choose based on their preference or need. It features an automatic ice-making process, with indicators to inform the user about water levels and ice basket capacity. The unit is equipped with a self-cleaning mode for convenient maintenance.

Usage Features

Before the first use, it is crucial to stand the ice maker upright for 24 hours to allow the refrigerant to settle. Users should also check for all accessories, including the ice basket and ice scoop. For optimal performance and hygiene, the first four cycles of ice produced should be discarded. The ice maker is designed for use in ambient temperatures between 10°C and 32°C (50°F and 89.6°F).

To begin operation, the user needs to open the cover, remove the ice basket, and pour water into the reservoir, ensuring it does not exceed the "MAX" water mark. After adding water, the unit is turned on by pressing the "ON/OFF" button. The "POWER" indicator light will turn green. Users can then select their desired ice cube size (small or large) by pressing the "SELECT" button. The ice maker will typically produce ice within 6 to 13 minutes, depending on the room temperature and the selected ice size.

The ice maker provides visual cues through its indicator lights. The "ADD WATER" indicator turns red when the water reservoir needs refilling. When this occurs, the user should add more water and press the "ON/OFF" button to resume operation. The "ICE FULL" indicator turns red when the ice basket is full, signaling that the ice is ready for use.

The handle for the ice maker needs to be installed by positioning it over the insert hole, fitting it into the insert notch, and then lifting it back to lock it into place.

Important usage precautions include:

  • Ensuring the unit is placed on a stable base.
  • Using only drinking water; no other liquids should be used.
  • Avoiding use in high or low temperatures (specifically, not below 41°F/5°C).
  • Maintaining a minimum of three inches of clearance around the side and back walls of the unit for proper air circulation.
  • Not placing the unit near heat sources such as an oven or in direct sunlight.
  • Not touching the evaporator with bare hands while the ice maker is operating.
  • Not plugging in or unplugging the unit with wet hands.

Maintenance Features

Regular cleaning is essential to maintain fresh-tasting ice and the unit's appearance. It is recommended to clean the ice maker once per week.

Manual Cleaning:

  1. Remove the ice basket from the unit.
  2. Clean the interior using a soft cloth with warm water and vinegar, then rinse thoroughly with clean water.
  3. To drain excess water, locate the drain plug at the bottom of the unit. Place the unit over a sink or a container, remove the drain plug, and allow the water to flow out. The drain plug is typically located approximately 60mm from the counter.
  4. Clean the exterior of the unit with a cloth and mild dish-washing soap.

Self-Cleaning (30-Minute Process):

  1. Remove the ice basket and add water to the reservoir.
  2. While the ice maker is in standby mode, long-press the "ON/OFF/CLEAN" button for 5 seconds. The unit will switch to self-cleaning mode, indicated by the "S" and "L" indicator lights flashing green consecutively. This cycle lasts for 30 minutes.
  3. After the self-cleaning process is complete, drain the excess water by removing the drain plug, similar to the manual cleaning process.
  4. Clean the exterior with a cloth and mild dish-washing soap.

Do's and Don'ts for Cleaning and Maintaining:

  • Do not use organic solvents, boiled water, strong detergents, strong acids, or strong alkalis for cleaning, as these can damage the unit.
  • If the unit will not be used for a prolonged period, drain the water completely and thoroughly dry the interior to prevent mold or odors.
  • Store the ice maker in a well-ventilated area when not in use.
  • Do not attempt to disassemble, repair, modify, or replace any part of the ice maker without permission from Silonn or its affiliates. This could void the warranty and pose safety risks.
