8.4 Trimming a beard
NOTE: You use the beard trimmer attach-
ment(4) with the adjustable comb attach-
ment(1).
• Please note that the cutting lengths are
only achieved if the slide control(10) is
in position 1 and the device is held at
a right angle (90°) to the skin surface.
• Comb the beard in the direction of growth.
• Trim the beard downwards from ear to
chin. Trim one side and then the other.
• Adjust the slide on the comb attach-
ment(1) to set the cutting length. Read
off the set cutting length via the marking
(3, 4, 5, 6 mm) on the side of the comb
attachment (see Fig.F).
• Trim your beard step-by-step.
• Use the beard trimmer attachment (4)
without a comb attachment(1) to cut the
beard very short or to cut a moustache
and hairlines.
• Use the slide control (10) to
adjust the precision length as
required (level 1: approx. 1.8 mm,
level 2: approx. 1.3 mm, level 3:
approx.0.8mm).
• Use the beard trimmer attachment (4)
or the precision trimmer attachment(7)
to trim your moustache. First comb the
moustache straight downwards. Start at
the centre above the mouth and trim one
side and then the other.
8.5 Trimming a hairline
NOTE: You use the precision trimmer attach-
ment(7) to shorten and shape moustaches,
whiskers, sideburns or eyebrows.
• Hold the device at an angle of 45° (see
Fig.G).
• Place the edge of the precision trimmer
attachment (7) at the desired hairline
height and move the device down-
wards.
8.6 Shaving (hairlines)
NOTE: You use the shaving attachment(8).
• Your skin must be clean and dry.
• The shaving attachment(8) is only suita-
ble for shaving hairlines.
NOTE: Do not exert excessive pressure on
the shaving foil of the shaving attachment, in
order to prevent damage to the shaving foil.
• Hold the device at right angles to the
skin surface and move it gently over
your face.
• Shave against the direction of beard
growth.
• Stretch your skin in complicated areas,
such as the chin, to achieve better results.
8.7 Trimming nose and ear hair
NOTE: You use the nose/ear hair trimmer
attachment(6).
• Insert only the metal tip slowly into a
nostril or an ear.
• Slowly move the device in a circular
pattern to trim the hair.
