9 Cleaning and care
!
WARNING!

You can receive an electric shock
if you clean the device improperly.
• Disconnect the device from the
power supply before cleaning.

CAUTION!
Risk of injury!
You may injure yourself if you
accidentally switch on the device
while handling it.
• Switch the device off before you
carry out cleaning or care work.
NOTE: Do not use any aggressive or scour-
ing cleaning agents or any abrasive objects
for cleaning, in order to prevent damage to
the surface of the device.
NOTE: Clean and oil the device after every
use.
9.1 Cleaning the motor unit
• Wipe the motor unit (9) with a damp
cloth.
9.2 Cleaning the comb
attachments
1. Remove the comb attach-
ment (1) / (2) / (3) from the device for
cleaning (see “Attaching / removing
comb attachments“).
2. Rinse the comb attachment(1) / (2) / (3)
with water.
3. Allow the comb attachment(1) / (2) / (3)
to dry completely before you replace it
on the device.
9.3 Cleaning the beard trimmer,
hair trimmer and precision
trimmer attachments
1. Remove the cutting attach-
ment(4) / (5) / (7) from the motor unit(9)
for cleaning (see “Attaching / removing
cutting attachments“).
2. Remove hair remnants from the cutting
attachment(4) / (5) / (7) with the clean-
ing brush (see “Scope of supply“).
3. Apply a few drops of blade oil (see
“Scope of supply“) to the cutting edge
of the attachment(4) / (5) / (7).
4. If required, wipe off any surplus oil with
a soft cloth.
NOTE: Only use acid-free oil, e.g. sewing
machine oil.
9.4 Cleaning the nose/ear hair
trimmer attachment
1. Remove the nose/ear hair trimmer
attachment (6) from the motor unit (9)
for cleaning (see “Attaching / removing
cutting attachments“).
2. Rinse the nose/ear hair trimmer attach-
ment(6) with water.
3. Allow the nose/ear hair trimmer attach-
ment(6) to dry completely before you
replace it on the motor unit(9).
9.5 Cleaning the shaving
attachment
NOTE: Do not detach the shaving foil from
the shaving foil frame and do not clean it
with the cleaning brush, in order to prevent
damage to the shaving foil.
1. Remove the shaving attachment(8) from
the motor unit(9) for cleaning (see “Attach-
ing / removing cutting attachments“).
2. Press the button on the side of the shav-
ing attachment(8) and remove the shav-
ing foil frame.
