Why won't my Simplicity Regent 1840RD engine turn over or start?

If your Simplicity Lawn Mower engine won't turn over or start, here are some potential causes: * The brake pedal may not be fully depressed. Ensure you fully depress the brake pedal. * The PTO (electric clutch) switch might be in the ON position. Place it in the OFF position. * Cruise control could be engaged. Move the knob to the NEUTRAL/OFF position. * The mower might be out of fuel. If the engine is hot, allow it to cool before refilling the fuel tank. * The engine could be flooded. Disengage the choke. * The battery may be discharged or dead. Recharge or replace the battery.
