Why is the drive belt slipping on my Simplicity RT?

  If the drive belt on your Simplicity Lawn Mower is slipping, check if the pulleys or belt are greasy or oily and clean them if necessary. If the belt is stretched or worn, replace it with a new one. Also, inspect the idler pulley pivot bracket; if it's frozen in the declutched position, remove it, clean, and lubricate it.

  If your Simplicity Lawn Mower cut is rough, ensure the engine speed is set to full throttle and that you are not moving too fast. Replace dull blades, and if the mower drive belt is slipping due to oil or wear, clean or replace it as needed. Check the PTO (Electric Clutch) Adjustment, and ensure the blades are properly fastened to the arbors.

  If your Simplicity Lawn Mower engine stalls easily when the mower is engaged, ensure the engine speed is set to full throttle and that you are not moving too fast. If the cutting height is set too low, especially in tall grass, raise it to the maximum height for the first pass. Make sure the discharge chute isn't jamming with cut grass by directing the discharge towards the previously cut area. Allow the engine to warm up for several minutes before engaging the mower, and avoid starting the mower in tall grass. For carburetor issues, refer to the Engine Manual.

Also, the fuel could be old or contain water; in this case, drain the fuel tank, refill it with fresh fuel, and replace the fuel filter. For a faulty safety interlock switch, consult your dealer.
