Ensure that nothing is blocking the remote receiver and that you are pointing the remote directly at it, and also move closer to the appliance. If your appliance has a power switch, make sure it is in the "I" (on) position. Finally, a control board malfunction might be the reason, and in that case, the control board (PCB) should be replaced.

  There are several reasons why the heater on your SimpliFire Indoor Fireplace might not be working, even if the flame is on. If the remote is in thermostat mode, the room temperature (measured at the appliance thermistor) might be higher than the set point on the remote. Try increasing the thermostat set point or exiting thermostat mode. The appliance may have overheated, causing the safety thermal switch to trip. Unplug or turn off power at the circuit breaker and allow it to cool for 15 minutes, then restore power. A defective main control board or heater assembly could also be the cause, requiring replacement of either the control board (PCB) or the heater assembly.
