FROM
THE
NEEDLE
To
prevent
the
point
of
the
hook
from
dividing
the strands
of
the
thread,
it
should
run as
close
to
the
needle
(within
the
scarf)
as
possible.

machine
pulley
over
toward
you
until
the
point
of
the
sewing
hook
is
at
the
center
of
thb
needle.
loosen
the
two
screws
(R,

holding
the
hook
saddle
underneath
the
bed
of
the
machine
and
move
the
hook
saddle
to
the
right
or
left,
as
moy
be
required,
until
the
point
of
the
hook
is
as
close
to
the
needle
as
possible
without
striking
it, then
securely
tighten
the
two
screws
(R).
The
needle
guard
(Y,
Fig. 22),
which
is
attached
to
the side
of
the
sewing
hook,
should
be
sprung
until
it
prevents
the
needle
from
striking
the
hook
in case the
needle
is
denected
towards
the
hook.

BOBBIN
ON

Fasten the
bobbin
winder
to
the
table
with
its dr1v1ng
pulle·;
in
front
of
the
machine
belt,
so
that
the
pulley
will
drop
away
from
the
belt
when
sufficient
thread
has
been
wound
upon
the
bobbin.

the
bobbin
on
the
bobbin
winder
Sf.lindle
and
push
it
on
as
fur
as
it
will
go,
being
sure
that
stud
(C)
enters
a
hole
in
the
bobbin.
Pass
the
tbread
down
through
the
thread
guide
(1)
in
the
tension
brudtet,
around
the
bock
and
betwe•en the
tension
discs
(2).
Then
wind
the
end
of
the
thread
around
the
bobbin
a
few
times, push the
bobbin
winder
pulley
over
against
the
machine
belt
and
start
the
machine.
When
suff1cient
thread
has
been
wound
upon
the
bobbin,
the
bobb1n
winder
will
stop
automaticolly.
If the
thread
does
not
wind
evenly
on
the
bobbin,
loosen
the
screw
(A)
in the
tension
bracket
and
move
the
bracket
to
the
right
or
left
as
may
be
required,
then
tighten
the
screw.
The
amount
of
thread
wound
on
the
bobuin
is
reguloted
uy
the
scrt:w
(B).
To
wind
rnore
thread
on
the
bobbin,
turn
the
screw
(B)
inwardly.
To
wind
less
thread
on
the
bobbin,
turn
the
screw
outwardly.
Bobbins
can
be
wound
while
the
machine
is
stitching.
