Final Bar Tack
Adjust
stitch width selector for bar
tacks, and take
at least six stitches
ending at point F .
Fastening Stitch
To secure stitching, move selector
to 0 and take three stitches . Remove
work, draw threads to underside,
fasten, and trim . Cut opening for
buttonwith sharp scissors
.
Corded Buttonholes
Soft threads used for embroidery
and crocheting make suitable filler
cords for raised buttonholes . A fine
pearl cotton (size No . 8) or silk
buttonhole twist is generally used .
1 . Unwind a sufficient amount of
the filler cord to avoid tension or
strain on the cord .
'? . Lead the end of the cord through
the raised eyelet on the
special
purpose foot .
Draw
the
cord un-
der and
in back of the foot .

with stitching as for
regular
buttonholes .

Just before making the final bar
tack, cut the filler cord close to
the eyelet guide . Complete the
bar tack and fasten buttonhole
stitching as usual .
