This document describes the Škoda Auto Beat car radio, providing details on its functions, technical specifications, and usage.
The car radio features a left-hand press/turn knob (1) for ON/OFF switching and volume control, and a right-hand press/turn knob (2) for frequency/title scan and manual tuning. Six station buttons (3) (numbered 1-6) are available for radio station selection and CD selection. A dedicated CD button (4) is used to call up CD playback. Navigation buttons (5) and (6) allow browsing forwards and backwards. The AM/FM button (7) switches between AM and FM bands and changes memory areas. The TP button (8) activates or deactivates traffic announcements. The AS button (9) initiates automatic station storing. A Note button (10) allows access to sound settings (Treble, Bass, Balance, Fader).
The display shows various information including TP (Traffic Programme set) (11), FM1/FM2 UKW pre-sets (1-6 or 7-12), AM1/AM2 LW/MW pre-sets (1-6 or 7-12) (12), station number (13), and programme name/frequency (14).
For safety, it is crucial to prioritize concentrating on traffic while driving. Any extensive adjustments, such as those in the Setup menu, should only be made when the vehicle is stationary. The volume should be set to allow awareness of external acoustic signals.
The car radio is equipped with a device-specific security code. This code only needs to be entered once during the initial setup in the vehicle. After the first entry, the radio "acquaints itself" with the vehicle, eliminating the need for re-entry if the on-board voltage is interrupted. The radio automatically checks vehicle data upon ignition. The code is only requested again if the radio detects it is in a different vehicle. If a security code was not provided, the vehicle is fitted with a comfort coding system that does not require one. In such cases, after battery disconnection and reconnection, the ignition must be switched on before the radio. If a code is desired, contact a Škoda service partner or importer. The code number should be kept in a safe place at home, not in the vehicle, to deter theft.
The radio is switched on and off by pressing the left-hand knob (1). Upon switching on, the radio adopts the last set parameters for Treble, Bass, and Balance. The volume is reduced, if necessary, to the maximum initial level set in the "ONVOL" Setup menu. Volume can be adjusted by turning the left-hand knob (1) between Volume 0 and Volume 45.
Sound settings (treble, bass, balance, fader) can be adjusted.
The car radio has an FM and AM receiver with 6 pre-sets for each band (FM1, FM2, AM1, AM2). The selected range is shown on the display at position (12).
RDS (Radio Data System) displays programme names (14). While driving, RDS automatically searches for alternative frequencies for the set programme to ensure optimal reception.
A long press on the right-hand knob (2) accesses the Setup menu for special settings. Changes should only be made when the vehicle is stationary.
Available Functions:
The anti-theft system activates when the radio is switched off and the key is removed, preventing unauthorized operation in another vehicle.
If the vehicle has an MFL, some radio functions can be operated from its buttons.
Standard warranty conditions apply. Damage from inappropriate use or inexpert repair attempts, or external damage, is not covered.
