Get
the
most
from
McAfee
®
Here
are some
useful
tips
to
help
you
make
the
most
of
your
ne
w software:
DO'S:
•
As
soon
as
you
are
up
and running
on
Sky
Broadband, double
click
on
the
McAfee
®
Security
Center
icon
on
your
desktop
to
register.
This
will
enable automatic updates
of
your
McAfee
® virus and security
software,
so
you
remain protected at
all
times.
•
Carefully
note the
email
address
and
password
you
use
to
register
your
McAfee
® software.
Your
email address and password
provide
you
with
access
to
your online
McAfee
® account, where
you
can
reinstall your software
if
needed,
at
any
time
you
want.
You
will
also
be
prompted
from
time
to
time
to
enter your registration
details,
for
example after
McAfee
® sends through
an
upgrade
of
your software.
•
Once
the software
has
been installed,
we
recommend that
you
perform
an
initial manual
check
for
updates
to
ensure that
all
new
ones are obtained.
This
can
be
done
by
clicking
on
the upgrade
icon
in
the top right-hand corner
of
the
McAfee
® Security
Center
.
You
should
check
your
McAfee
®
Privacy
Service
cookie
settings
-
if
the
Reject
all
cookies
setting
is
enabled, this
could
prevent
you
from
being able
to
access some websites.
If
this
is
the case,
you
can
either
individually select websites
to
accept cookies
(eBay
for
example)
or
select a slightly lower security setting.
You
can
do
this
from
the
McAfee
® Security Center- select the
Privacy
Service
tab, and
check
the
cookie
settings
for
each
user,
including the Administrator.
If
you
are
still
having
trouble accessing some websites,
we
recommend
you
try setting this
to
Accept
all
cookies
to
see
if
this corrects
the problem.

Always
ensure that
Windows
is
fully
updated,
as
this
will
minimise
security
risks
.
•
If
you
have
children,
we
recommend creating a separate
McAfee
®
Privacy
Service
account
for
each .
This
will
also enable
you
to
track
their internet behaviour.
•
To
ensure that there are
no
hidden and/or dormant infections
on
your
computer,
we
recommend
you
perform a
full
manual .scan
about
once
a week.
