Once you have put your receiver into operation, you should first update
the operating software of your receiver!
There are two possibilities to update the software.
5.2.1 Software Update via Satellite
1. In the menu Tools, select the submenu S/W Upgrade by OTA and press OK.
2. Leave all settings unchanged (factory settings).
3. Mark the button Start and confirm by pressing the OK key. Now it is being checked if the software
currently installed on the receiver is up-to-date. If it is not up-to-date, then the current software
version will be downloaded via satellite and installed onto the receiver. After end of installation
you will be asked if the update should be saved.
4. Select the option Yes to accept the update. The satellite update may take up to one hour. Do not
switch off the receiver during such period!
5.2.2 Softwareupdate via the Serial Interface RS232
Via a RS232 connection PC - receiver you can update the operation software. For the corresponding
update file, the necessary PC software, and a description of the update procedure refer to the support
center on the website mentioned on the extension sheet.
5.3 Standby Mode / Switching off the Receiver
1. Press POWER to go to standby mode.
2. While in standby mode press POWER again to switch on the Receiver again.
3. Unplug the power plug to switch off the device completely (to terminate standby).
5.4 Commissioning
After first switching-on or after resetting the receivers, various windows will open:
5.4.1 Language
By default, the menu language is preset to Deutsch (German).
Please ensure that the setting is correct; you may change your settings by correspondingly pressing
the keys PR+ and PR-.
Confirm by pressing OK to go to the next window.
