Overview

This document provides comprehensive instructions for the safe and efficient use, installation, and maintenance of your induction hob. It covers various aspects from initial setup to advanced cooking functions and troubleshooting.

Function Description

The induction hob is designed for cooking purposes, utilizing an electromagnetic field to generate heat directly in the cookware. This method ensures efficient and rapid heating. The hob features multiple induction cooking zones, each capable of independent operation or, in some cases, linked together for larger cookware. A central control panel, equipped with sensor fields, allows for intuitive operation and monitoring of all functions. Displays and indicators provide visual feedback on the hob's status, including heat settings, timer information, and error messages.

Key functions include:

  • ON/OFF: Activates and deactivates the entire hob.
  • Heat Setting: Allows precise control over the cooking intensity for each zone, ranging from low to high.
  • MultiZone: Connects two cooking zones to operate as a single, larger zone, ideal for accommodating oversized pots or pans.
  • Accelerator: Provides a temporary boost to the heat setting, allowing for faster initial heating before settling into the desired cooking temperature. This function is particularly useful for quickly bringing liquids to a boil.
  • Power Function: Makes additional power available to an induction cooking zone for a limited period, further accelerating heating. After this period, the zone automatically reverts to its highest regular heat setting.
  • Timer (Count Down Timer): Enables users to set a specific cooking duration for individual zones. Once the set time elapses, the cooking zone automatically deactivates, and an audible signal sounds.
  • CountUp Timer: Monitors the duration a cooking zone has been active, providing a useful reference for longer cooking processes.
  • Minute Minder: Functions as a standalone timer, independent of cooking zone operation, useful for general kitchen timing.
  • Lock / Child Safety Device: Locks the control panel to prevent accidental changes to settings during operation or to prevent unintended activation by children.
  • OffSound Control: Allows users to deactivate or activate the audible feedback from the hob's sensor fields.
  • Power Limitation (Eco-Logic): Manages the total power consumption of the hob, distributing power across cooking zones to prevent exceeding the household's electrical capacity. This function is particularly relevant for installations with specific power constraints.
  • Auto-Vent: An advanced automatic function that connects the hob to a compatible special hood via an infrared signal. The hob automatically adjusts the hood's fan speed based on the cooking mode and the temperature of the hottest cookware, optimizing ventilation. This function can also be operated manually.

Usage Features

The hob is designed for ease of use and safety in a household environment.

  • Cookware Placement: Cookware should be placed centrally on the selected cooking zone. The induction zones automatically adapt to the bottom dimensions of the cookware. For MultiZone operation, cookware must cover the centers of the two linked zones.
  • Heat Setting Adjustment: Heat settings are adjusted by touching the control bar or sliding a finger along it to reach the desired level.
  • Timer Operation: Timers are set by selecting the desired cooking zone and then using the +/- buttons to adjust the time. The timer indicators flash to show active timers.
  • Safety Features: The hob incorporates several safety mechanisms, including Automatic Switch Off, which deactivates the hob under certain conditions (e.g., prolonged inactivity, spills on the control panel, overheating, or incorrect cookware). The Lock / Child Safety Device prevents accidental operation.
  • Eco-Heat (3-step Residual Heat Indicator): After cooking, the display shows the residual heat level, indicating that the zone is still hot and can be used for keeping food warm or for melting. This also serves as a warning against touching hot surfaces.
  • Eco-Off (Eco Timer): To save energy, the heating element of a cooking zone may deactivate slightly before the set timer ends, utilizing residual heat to complete the cooking process.
  • Noises During Operation: Certain noises (crackling, whistling, humming, clicking, hissing, buzzing) are normal during induction cooking and do not indicate a malfunction. These are typically related to cookware material, power levels, or fan operation.
  • Energy Saving Hints: To optimize energy consumption, users are advised to always use lids, place cookware on the zone before activating it, use smaller cookware on smaller zones, and place cookware centrally. Utilizing residual heat for warming or melting also contributes to energy efficiency.

Maintenance Features

Regular cleaning and proper care are essential to maintain the hob's performance and appearance.

  • General Cleaning: The hob should be cleaned after each use. Always use cookware with a clean base to prevent scratches. Scratches or dark stains on the surface do not affect hob operation.
  • Cleaning Agents: Use a special cleaner suitable for hob surfaces and a special scraper for the glass. Avoid abrasive products, abrasive cleaning pads, solvents, or metal objects. Do not use water spray or steam cleaners.
  • Immediate Removal of Spills: Melted plastic, plastic foil, sugar, or food with sugar should be removed immediately with a special scraper to prevent damage to the hob surface. Exercise caution to avoid burns.
  • Removal of Limescale and Stains: Limescale rings, water rings, fat stains, and shiny metallic discoloration should be removed when the hob is sufficiently cool, using a moist cloth and non-abrasive detergent. For shiny metallic discoloration, a solution of water with vinegar can be used.
  • Service and Repair: In case of malfunction or damage, contact an Authorized Service Centre. Only original spare parts should be used for repairs. If the glass ceramic surface is cracked, immediately disconnect the appliance from the power supply and contact the Authorized Service Centre.
  • Disposal: The appliance and its packaging materials should be disposed of responsibly, following local municipal authority guidelines for recycling electrical and electronic appliances. Do not dispose of the appliance with household waste.
