What to do if my Smeg UD515D Dishwasher doesn't turn on and the salt light flashes?
    • R
      russellmichaelAug 12, 2025
If your Smeg Dishwasher displays 'OFF' and the salt light flashes, it indicates that the salt lock has been activated due to a lack of regeneration salt. To resolve this, simply top up the regeneration salt in your dishwasher.

Why is my Smeg UD515D not cleaning properly?
    • J
      John WrightAug 16, 2025
If your Smeg Dishwasher is not washing dishes properly, consider the following potential causes and solutions: * Ensure dishes/glasses are correctly positioned to allow proper water flow. * Verify you are using sufficient and appropriate detergent and rinse aid. * Check for clogged or crusted spray arm holes and clean them. * Inspect and clean the filter. * If the washing temperature is low (inferior than 50°C), contact customer support. * For issues with detergent or rinse aid not dispensing, the internal tube for detergent or rinse aid of the peristaltic pump may be worn or broken, to be replaced by the After-Sales Service. This ordinary maintenance service is recommended at least once a year for the correct functioning of the dosers.

If glasses and cutlery are stained after washing in your Smeg Dishwasher, it could be due to rinse aid that is unsuitable or not being delivered correctly, or water hardness above 12°dF or large amounts of dissolved salts.
