Why won't my Snap-On FJ400 lift or sustain the load?

If your Snap-On jack won't lift or hold the rated load, there are several possible reasons. First, ensure the release valve is fully tightened by re-inserting the handle into the handle yoke and rotating it clockwise until it stops, and then try pumping again. Another reason could be that you are exceeding the jack's rated capacity, so ensure you are using a jack with the appropriate capacity for the load.
