DECK
ADJUSTMENT-
LEVEL
1.
SIde-To-SIde
Before
making
deck
leveling
adjustments,
check
the
tire
pressure.
Front
tires
15
psi,
reartires
10
psi.
If
tires
are
properly
inflated
and
mowing
is
still
uneven
adjust
side-to-side
deck
level
as
follows.
(a)
Place
Rear
Engine
Rider
on
a
smooth,
level
surface.
(b)
Turn
engine
off,
remove
key,
remove
spark
plug
wires
from
spark
plugs
and
secure
wires
away
from
plugs.
(c)
Locate
center
of
deck.
Refer
to
Figure
4.6.
(d)
Rotate
blades
until
a
tip
of
each
blade
is
aligned
with
center
of
deck
on
each
side.
(e)
Place
a
support,
such
as
a
brick
or
wooden
block,
under
center
of
deck
at
the
rear.
(f)
Remove
rear
hangerchains
and
allow
center
rear
of
deck
to
rest
on
support.

Measure
the
distance
from
blade
tips
to
floor
at
outside
of
deck.
If
the
measurement
is
within
1
/8"
from
side
to
side
the
deck
attitude
is
satisfactory.

Loosen
the
shoulder
bolt
retaining
the
left
side
of
blade
pedals.
(i)
Turn
eccentric
"UP"
or
"DOWN"
as
required
until
blade
tips
are
within
1/8"
of
each
other.

Tighten
shoulder
bolt
loosened
in
step
(h).

Readjust
rear
hanger
chains
to
maintain
level.
Reinstall
rear
hanger
chains.
