Snapper 14 Series - Wheel Brake Adjustment

Section IV- ADJUSTMENTS & REPAIR
1. Follow procedures for standing Rear Engine
Rider on rear bumper. Refer to 4.2, C. AD¬
JUSTING MOWER BLADES.
2. Depress clutch/brake pedal all the way down.
Move and hold the park brake lever in the "ON"
position and release the clutch/brake pedal to
engage park brake. See Figure 4.15.

3. Measure the distance between end of clutch/
brake cable and top of cotter pin. Measurement
should be no less than 3/16" and no greater
than 7/16". See Figure 4.16.

4. I f measurement is less than 3/16" or greaterthan
7/16", loosen the two jam nuts holding
the clutch/brake cable to the chain case
bracket. See Figure 4.17.

5. Adjust cable up or down using the jam nuts
to obtain a distance of 5/16" between end of
clutch/brake cable and top of cotter pin. Referto
Figure 4.16.
6. After adjustment is complete, securely tighten
cable jam nuts.
4.4 MOWER BLADE REPAIR/REPLACEMENT
A. BLADE WEAR LIMITS
1. Inspect blade frequently for signs of excessive
wear or damage. See Figure 4.18.
