C. ADJUSTING THE APPLIANCE
1. Programming the appliance for a water filter
After having inserted the MAVEA Intenza water filter cartridge as described in the
section “Installing the water filter cartridge” on page 15, program the appliance so
that the water filter is rinsed with 16.9 fl oz of water and the descaling intervals are
adjusted. With a water filter inserted, the intervals between two descaling cycles are
more than twice as long.
●
Switch the appliance on with the ON/OFF button. Wait for
both coffee buttons to constantly flash white, indicating that
the appliance is in operation mode. Place a container that
holds at least 16.9 fl oz under the brewing group.

Press the Prog. button to switch to programming mode. The
Prog. button flashes quickly, a signal sounds and the other
three buttons flash alternately.
●
Press the button. Now, only the two coffee buttons
/ flash alternately, the Prog. button keeps flashing
quickly.
●
Press the button to confirm that the water filter is inserted.

= yes, = no)

Once the button lights up constantly and the Prog. button
flashes quickly, the setting is made.
●
Now, press the Prog. button to activate the automatic rinse
cycle. The program increases the descaling interval of the
machine.
●
The automatic rinse cycle is performed, 16.9 fl oz of water are
flushed through the brewing group. The Prog. and
buttons
flash quickly during the rinse cycle.
●
When the automatic rinse cycle has been completed, the
Prog. button flashes twice, the setting is saved and com-
pleted, a signal sounds twice.
●
Empty the container containing the hot water from the au-
tomatic rinse cycle. The appliance switches back to operation
mode.
