Thefollowingconditionsarerequiredforproperinstallation:
1TheSonicWallapplianceisdesignedtobemountedina
standard19inchrackmountcabinet.
2Usethemountinghardwarerecommendedbytherack
manufacturerandensurethattherackisadequatefor
theapplication.
3Ensurethatnowaterorexcessivemoisturecan
enter
theunit.
4Allowunrestrictedairflowaroundtheunitandthrough
theventsonthesideoftheunit.Aminimumof1inch
(26mm)clearanceisrecommended.
5Routecablesawayfrompowerlines,fluorescent
lightingfixtures,andsourcesofnoisesuchasradios,
transmitters,andbroadbandamplifiers.
6Mountinalocation
awayfromdirectsunlightand
sourcesofheat.Amaximumambienttemperatureof
104ºF(40ºC)isrecommended.
7Ifinstalledinaclosedormultirackassembly,the
operatingambienttemperatureoftherack
environmentmaybegreaterthantheroomambient.
Therefore,considerationshouldbegiventoinstalling
the
equipmentinanenvironmentcompatiblewiththe
maximumrecommendedambienttemperature.
8MounttheSonicWallappliancesevenlyintherackin
ordertopreventahazardousconditioncausedby
unevenmechanicalloading.
9Fourmountingscrews,compatiblewiththerackdesign,
mustbeusedandhandtightenedtoensuresecure
installation.Choosea
mountinglocation whereallfour
mountingholeslineupwiththoseofthemountingbars
ofthe19inchrackmountcabinet.
10 Asuitablyratedandapprovedbranchcircuitbreaker
shallbeprovidedaspartofthebuildinginstallation.
Followlocalcodewhenpurchasingmaterialsor
components.
