ADJUSTMENTS
2-1. MECHANICAL ADJUSTMENTS
Precautions:
1. Clean the following parts with a denatured-alcoholmois-
tened swab;
record/playback/erase head
pinch roller rubber belts
capstan idler
2. Demagnetize the record/playback head with a head demag-
netizer.
(Head demagnetizer do not approach for the erase head.)
3. Do not use a magnetized screwdriver for the adjustments.
4. After the adjustments, apply suitable locking compound to
the parts adjusted.
3. The adjustments should be performed in the rated power
supply voltage unless otherwise noted.

Adjustment
This Adjustment should be performed after the electrical
adjustment and on replacing adjusting screw, magnet, or
chucking pulley.
Procedure :
1. Set disc (YEDS-18) to the optical pick-up block. (Fig. A)
Z. Adjust the bracket (press pulley) to the center of the
magnet with adjusting screw. (Fig. B)

Precautions:
CASSETTE DECK SECTION
1. Demagnetize the record “playback head with a head
demagnetizer. (Do not bring the head demagnetizer close
to the erase head.)
Do not use a magnetized screwdriver for the adjustments,
After the adjustments, apply suitable locking compound
to the parts adjusted.
4, The adjustments should be performed with the rated
power supply voltage unless otherwise noted,
5. The adjustments should be performed in the order given
in this service manual, (As a general rule, playback
circuit adjustment should be completed before performing
recording circuit adjustment.)
6. The adjustments should be performed for both L-CH and
R-CH,
¢ Switches and controls should be set as follows unless
otherwise specified.
