Gyro
Cartridge
Replacement
1.
Remove
the
gyro
assembly
(paragraph
5-25).
2.
Remove
the
gyro
pulley (paragraph
5-26).
3.
Slide the
plastic
cap
up
(located
on
the
gyro
assembly).
4.
Release
the
snap
ring
using
snap
ring pliers.
5.
Lift
the
gyro
cartridge
straight
up
and out
of the
gyro
housing.

6.
Replace
the
gyro
cartridge
by
reversing steps
1
through
5.
Be
sure
to
replace
the
snap
ring
with its
flat
side
against
the
bearing
face.
7.
Perform
the imbalance calibration
procedure
(paragraph
7-2g,
8-2g, or
9-2g).

Motor
Drive
Belt
Replacement
1.
Remove
the
access
panel (paragraph
5-33).
2.
Release
the
spring
tension
on
the drive
belt
by
loosening
the
adjusting
nut
on
the
retaining
hook
(see figure
5-7).
Then, remove
the
spring
from
the
motor
spring arm
on
the
motor
mounting plate.
3.
Loosen
the
nut,
metal
washer,
spring,
and
nylon
washer
from the three
mounting
studs
securing
the
motor mounting
plate
to the drive
plate.
4.
Remove
the
gyro
assembly
(paragraph
5-25).
5.
Remove
and discard the drive
belt
from
the
gyro
pulley
and
the
motor
pulley.
