2.
The
single-grooved
pulley
may
be
secured
by
either
a
Trantorque* keyless
machine
mount or
two set
screws,
depending on
the
centrifuge
serial
number.
a.
If
the
pulley
is
secured
with
a
Trantorque*
keyless
machine mount:
1.) Securely
tighten
an
adjustable wrench
onto
flats of
gyro
shaft
(above
plastic
cap)
to
keep
it from
turning.
Then
place
a
5/8
inch
open-end
wrench onto
Hats of the TRANTORQUE. Turn
the
wrench to release
the
TRANTORQUE.
2.)
Remove
the
TRANTORQUE
and
pulley.
Keep
both
parts
for
reassembly.
b.
If
the
pulley
is secured
with
set screws:
Use
a
5/64
inch
Alien
wrench to remove
the
two
set
screws.
(There
may
be
four set
screws,
two in each
hole. securing
the
pulley
to
the
gyro
shaft.
Keep
all
parts
for
reassembly.)
NOTE
If
the
set
screws
cannot
be
removed using an
Alien
wrench, use a
heat
gun
(or propane
torch) to heat
the
pulley
and
loosen
the
adhesive holding
the
set
screws
in
place.
3.
Lift
the
plastic
cap
(located
on
the
top
of the
gyro
assembly).
then
release
the
snap
ring using
snap
ring pliers.
4.
Lift
the
gyro
cartridge assembly
straight
up
and
out
of the
gyro
housing;
set
it
aside
for
reassembly.
NOTE
If
the
cartridge assembly cannot
be pulled out
of the
gyro
housing,
tap
the
shaft
with
a
rubber mallet to
loosen
the
cartridge
assembly.
5.
Remove
the
gyro
mounting ring
and rubber
ring
from the bottom of the
gyro
housing.
Discard
the old
gyro
housing.
6.
Install the
rubber
ring
and
gyro
mounting
ring
(removed
in
step
5) onto
the
new
gyro
housing
(PN
07857).
7.
Secure
the
Imbalance detector
top
bracket
(PN 07955)
to
the
side
of the
gyro
housing
using
the lockwashers
(PN 63011)
and
screws
(PN 61146)
supplied.
8.
Carefully insert
the
gyro
cartridge
assembly
(removed
in
step
4) into
the
gyro
housing.
