When properly seated, the cylindrical barrel portion of the cable will protrude about ¼”
from the top of the Fiber Adapter. Once the fiber is seated within the adapter, tighten the
thumbscrew to hold it in place and then finish tightening the Fiber Adapter to the
instrument.
At the opposite end of the fiber optic cable is a threaded SMA -type connector that
simply screws into the Diffuser (Figure 12).
