Appendix A: Laser Safety
The PSR Series Spectroradiometers use a Class 3R laser beam that complies with IEC 60825 -1, Ed. 1.2.
The source of laser energy in the PSR is a nominal 3 mw, continuous, 635 nm diode laser. No maintenance or
adjustments are required in order to keep this product in compliance with the above specifications.
DANGER:
Do not look into the laser beam at any time including instrument setup or operation.
The laser is operated by pressing the Laser Scan Switch located on the top surface of the instrument. See Section 2:
Hardware and Interface Description, for the location of this control.
CAUTION - Use of controls or adjustments or performance of procedures other than those specified herein
may result in hazardous radiation exposure.
There are no user serviceable components within this device. The unit should be returned to the manufacturer in case of
malfunction.
