Return Authorization
All returns for repair require a RETURN AUTHORIZATION NUMBER issued by Spectros Instruments’
Service Department upon request. A Service Request Form may be obtained at the Spectros Instruments
Home Page at www.SpectrosInstruments.com.
The user is advised to consult the “Working with System Faults” (Page 14-15 of manual) prior to
contacting the factory.

Routine Maintenance
The SF-ExplorIR™ Clearance Monitor requires only minor periodic maintenance such as the annual
factory authorized replacement of the internal particle filter and fresh air bag (Annual Calibration
Verification). The monitor incorporates active diagnostics that continuously check the system for proper
operation. A front panel indicator is provided to alert an operator of system irregularities and associated
fault codes are generated that enable the operator to quickly identify the cause of the fault. Please consult
Users Manual.
The SF-ExplorIR™ is manufactured in Accordance with ISO9001 protocol and has CE Certification.
Calibration Verification
• Only Spectros Instruments and its’ Authorized Distributors are authorized to perform the
required 12 month calibration verification service to assure proper performance of the
SF-ExplorIR
TM
.
• Certification of SF-ExplorIR™ is a Safe-Worker Re-Entry Monitor for Sulfuryl Fluoride is
automatically void without up-to-date (every 12 months) Spectros Instruments, Inc

calibration verification.
• A Service Authorization Form is required for each Calibration Verification Event and should be faxed/
emailed to both Spectros Instruments Inc and the Authorized Agent. The form may be obtained at
www.spectrosinstruments.com @Service Request on the Homepage .
• We have implemented this measure for Authorized Calibration Verification of the SF-ExplorIR™ for
quality assurance. Any external “calibration labeling (sticker) is irrelevant” and is not authorized by
Spectros Instruments.
• Only software versions 2.07 or higher are compliant. If the monitor does not display V2.07 or higher at
initial power up then it is out of compliance and should be returned immediately for update.
• The current software V. 2.14 for the SF-ExplorIR has a Calibration Check Notification in the software.
Valid Calibration Period for V2.14 Software is 12 months. An internal clock counts down and logs the
number of days remaining for a compliant monitor. When the monitor is out of compliance the message
displayed is “Calibration Void Return for Cal”. SPECTROS INSTRUMENTS AND ANY
AUTHORIZED AGENT MAY PERFORM THE CALIBRATION VERIFICATION SERVICE
