2. SAFETY SYMBOLS and DEFINITIONS
The safety signal word designates the degree or level of a hazardous situation.
Indicates an imminently hazardous situation which, if not avoided, will
result in serious injury or death.
Indicates a potentially hazardous situation which, if not avoided, could
result in serious injury or death.
Indicates a potentially hazardous situation which, if not avoided, may
result in minor or moderate injury.
Caution: Used without the safety alert symbol indicates a potentially hazardous
situation which, if not avoided, may result in property damage.
IMPORTANT: Important is used when action or lack of action can cause
equipment failure, either immediate or over a long period of time.
3. SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
3.1. General
The necessary actions to avoid an accident with or any damage to the GPHE
are:
Before putting an SPX FLOW GPHE into operation, the operator shall analyze
the application for all foreseeable risks, their likelihood to occur and the
potential consequences of the identified risks as per the current revision of ISO
31000 and ISO/IEC 31010.
Read and understand these operating instructions. Failure to correctly install,
commission, and operate the GPHE, can create a condition in which hazardous
fluids or gases leak and result in serious injury or death. Observe warning signs
on equipment and act accordingly. Form safe working habits by reading the
rules and abiding by them. Keep this booklet handy or save the link to this
manual and review it from time to time to refresh your understanding of the
rules.
