How to fix STA-RITE Water Pump failure to pump water?
    • J
      Jacob NavarroJul 28, 2025
If your STA-RITE Water Pump is not pumping water, has reduced capacity, or the discharge pressure is low, start by checking for suction leaks and ensuring the pump volute and strainer basket are full of water. Inspect the suction piping for leaks and make sure the suction pipe inlet is well below the water level to prevent the pump from sucking air. Also, verify the strainer pot/basket isn't clogged. Clean it if necessary. Check the voltage at the motor terminals and at the meter while the pump is running. Low voltage may indicate an electrical issue. Inspect for loose electrical connections. If the pump is trying to push water too high, consider using a higher head pump.

Why is my STA-RITE Water Pump overheating?
    • B
      Brian CabreraAug 4, 2025
If your STA-RITE Water Pump is too hot, check the line voltage. If it's less than 90% or more than 110% of the rated voltage, consult a licensed electrician. Increase ventilation to the pump, reduce the ambient temperature, and tighten any loose electrical connections.

What to do if STA-RITE Water Pump impeller is clogged?
    • N
      Nicholas ParrishAug 12, 2025
If your STA-RITE Water Pump isn't working properly due to a clogged pipe or impeller, or a worn impeller/diffuser, first ensure the strainer pot/basket is not clogged and clean it if needed. Then, check if the impeller is clogged. If you find a blockage, clear it. Inspect the impeller and diffuser for wear. If either shows signs of damage or major wear, order replacement parts.

Why is my STA-RITE Water Pump running slowly?
    • J
      jordan14Aug 19, 2025
If your STA-RITE Water Pump is running too slowly, check the voltage at the motor terminals and at the meter while the pump is running. If the voltage is low, see the wiring instructions or consult the power company. Inspect for loose electrical connections.
