Always remove the activation key before carrying out any inspection, cleaning or maintenance.
Condition LEDs on the
Hedge Trimmer
Cause Remedy
3 LEDs flash
red.
Malfunction in hedge
trimmer.
► Do not attempt to use. The hedge trimmer has a malfunction
and must be checked by a servicing dealer.
Hedge trimmer does
not start when
switched on.
Activation key not
fully inserted.
► Remove the activation key, @ 12.2.
► Visually check the electrical contacts of the activation key.
► Reinsert the activation key, @ 12.1.
1 LED flashes
green.
Less than 20%
charge remaining.
► Charge the hedge trimmer, @ 10.
3 LEDs glow
red.
Integrated battery
too hot.
► Remove the activation key, @ 12.2.
► Allow the hedge trimmer to cool down gradually at ambient
temperatures of about 50°F to 68°F (10°C to 20°C).
Moisture in hedge
trimmer.
► Allow the hedge trimmer to dry.
Hedge trimmer cuts
out during operation.
3 LEDs glow
red.
Integrated battery
too hot.
► Remove the activation key, @ 12.2.
► Allow the hedge trimmer to cool down gradually at ambient
temperatures of about 50°F to 68°F (10°C to 20°C).
Electrical
malfunction.
► Switch off the hedge trimmer. Wait at least 5seconds and
switch it back on, @ 13.
Runtime is too short. Hedge trimmer not
fully charged.
► Charge the hedge trimmer, @ 10.
Useful life of
integrated battery
has been reached or
exceeded.
► Have the hedge trimmer checked by an authorized STIHL
servicing dealer.
Integrated battery
too hot / too cold.
► Allow the hedge trimmer to warm up or cool down gradually
at ambient temperatures of about 50°F to 68°F (10 °C to
20°C).
Hedge trimmer is not
being charged.
