N Make sure you have a secure and 
balanced footing.
N Check that bystanders are well clear 
of the general work area of the 
power tool.
N Hold the power tool firmly with both 
hands on the handles.
N Check that the saw chain chain is 
not touching the wood or any other 
object.
N Pull the hand guard towards the 
front handle until there is an audible 
click and it is in position ‚ – the 
chain brake is disengaged.
N Depress the trigger switch 
lockout (1) with your thumb.
N Squeeze the trigger switch (2) with 
your index finger.
N Start the cut with the chain running.
The motor runs only if the hand guard is 
on ‚ and the trigger switch lockout (1) 
and trigger switch (2) are operated 
simultaneously.
N Release the trigger switch (2) so 
that it can return to the off position. 
It is locked in this position by the 
trigger switch lockout (1).
The coasting brake brings the chain to a 
standstill.
WARNING
The coasting brake operates 
immediately only if the trigger switch is 
fully released. If you release the trigger 
switch slowly or only partly, the saw 
chain will continue to run for several 
seconds.
N Move hand guard to ƒ – the chain 
is locked.
During longer work breaks – disconnect 
the plug from the wall outlet.
Switching On
